Gig Economy
Another day, another dollar. The American dream.
As I hustle from one gig to the next, I’m reminded of the economy left to me by my American ancestors. With the hopes of a “better life” their grandchildren carry on these dreams, now contemplating what exactly is a better life.
For me, this gig economy works. I love to hustle, that’s why I live in New York City. I despise being micromanaged, which is why I don’t work a corporate job. I have aspirations and goals that I know these gigs contribute to. However, I know that this gig economy doesn’t work for some people too. I guess it depends on the person.
I hypothesize that in 20 years from now our working economy will have undergone a paradigm shift leaving individuals chasing gigs forever and corporate jobs being almost nonexistent. I relish in the fact that I get to watch and be a part of an economical revolution. At least there’s something to look forward to.
